The brand, meaning 'spirit of the earth' (from the Latin 'terra' and Polynesian 'mana'), was co-founded by Dwayne Johnson with the goal of creating a high-quality, responsibly sourced spirit that is accessible to all. The tequila is produced at Destilería Teremana de Agave, a unique home built solely for the brand, where they meticulously follow traditional, small batch methods.
This ageing imparts a light honey colour and a complex, rich sensory profile. On the nose, one finds roasted agave, oak, and vanilla. The palate is smooth and well balanced, featuring flavours of cooked agave, vanilla, cinnamon, and a subtle oak influence. There are also notes of stone fruit, tropical fruit, and a hint of spice. The finish is medium in length and warm, with lingering notes of vanilla and toasted oak. The complexity and smoothness make it an excellent choice for sipping.
