Creme Yvette, a liqueur, was originally produced in the US in the late 19th century. By the mid-20th century, it was out of production altogether. The formula was revised recently, and is now produced in France. The liqueur is based on a mixture of four berry fruits and violets, and is the base for many cocktails, the most notable of which might be the Aviator.
