Alberelli di Giodo Carricante originates from the island of Sicily, Italy, produced under the Sicilia DOC / Terre Siciliane IGT. This exceptional white wine represents master winemaker Carlo Ferrini's expanded vision beyond Tuscany (where he crafts his iconic Giodo Brunello di Montalcino). Nestled on the high-altitude slopes of Mount Etna, the project sources grapes from a tiny, dedicated parcel of bush-trained vines (alberelli) planted in volcanic soils. Production is extraordinarily small—often limited to just a few thousand bottles per vintage—making it a boutique jewel of Sicilian winemaking.

Wine Description

In the glass, the wine exhibits a luminous, pale straw yellow hue with subtle green highlights. The nose is remarkably fragrant, bursting with aromas of jasmine, honeysuckle, fresh citrus, green apple, and white peach, underpinned by a distinct flinty, smoky minerality and a hint of sea salt. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with dynamic energy and tension. Concentrated fruit flavors of lemons, juicy nectarines, and candied citrus peel are balanced by a chiseled, mouthwatering acidity and a savory, volcanic salinity. It concludes with a crisp, extremely long finish that reveals delicate herbal and crushed-stone undertones.
